What is it?

The Iowa Equestrian Team competes under the Youth Equestrian Development Association (YEDA), an organization dedicated to developing riders' skills and providing scholarship opportunities. YEDA offers a structured program for riders from elementary through high school, including divisions for beginners and advanced riders, as well as special classes for equestrians with disabilities. The season runs from late summer through spring, culminating in the National Championship Weekend. YEDA also supports its members with scholarships, having awarded over $950,000 by 2023 to help riders pursue higher education

  1. Do I need to own my own horse?

    • No, you do not need to own your own horse to participate in YEDA or the Iowa Equestrian Team.

  2. Do I have to show?

    • No, you are not required to show. You can still practice with the team and gain valuable experience without competing.​

  3. When does the team practice?

    • The Iowa Equestrian Team practices on Monday nights:

      • Junior Team: 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM

      • Senior Team: 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM

  4. How do I sign up?
